WARDEN
FOR A DAY
The
Highland Wildlife Park offers a Warden for a Day package.
Come and work with us and see the varied life of an animal
warden!
The day starts around 8.30am with
our animal wardens as they check up on the animals in
their sections. You will receive a Highland Wildlife
Park sweatshirt to wear on the day. The animal enclosures
are cleaned out and the animals are observed for any
signs of illness or injury. Some of the animals are
also fed at this time. As a Warden for the Day, you
can choose which section or sections you wish
to help out on.
Cleaning the sections and feeding
some of the animals like the snow monkeys, takes us
up to lunchtime (with a tea break in between). Lunch
is from 12 – 1pm and is provided in our Antlers
Coffee Shop. At this time, you may also wish to have
a look around our Wildthings Gift Shop where you will
receive 25% discount on purchases (10% on books) in
our Wildthings shop for the day.
Between 1pm and 2pm there is time
to help out with preparing the afternoon feeds for the
Main Reserve before assisting the warden feeding the
wolves. After this you can join the patrol vehicle in
the drive-through reserve to help feed the reserve animals.
The day finishes with a well-earned rest
at 4.30pm. The itinerary may differ slightly
from the above on the day, depending on circumstances
at the time.
If you wish to make a booking,
contact the Park on: 01540 651270 or e-mail a completed
booking form (see below) to wildlife@rzss.org.uk.
The cost is £100 for the day per person.
Payment is generally made on the day itself.
Please note: Applicants
MUST be over 18 years of age.
