KEEPER FOR A DAY

With our “Keeper for the day” offer, anyone over the age of 18 and physically fit can get up close and personal to the animals in the park, help to feed and of course, clean them out.

The day starts at around 8.30am and as a Keeper for the Day, you will spend the day shadowing the Park’s regular keepers as they go on their rounds, moving from one section to another.

During the day, you will be able to get much closer to the animals than any member of the public normally can. You will see how our animals are fed and you may be asked to help with feeding and enriching the animals’ day. You will also be able to ask the keepers any questions you may have about the animals in their care.

On the day, you will receive a Highland Wildlife Park t-shirt to keep. Lunch is provided in our Antlers Cafe and you may also wish to have a look around our Wildthings shop where you will receive 25% discount on purchases (10% on books).

The cost for "Keeper for a Day" is £150 per person. For more information and a booking form click here.

Want to work with our carnivores?
Our wolves, wildcats, arctic foxes and tigers are not normally included in the Keeper for the Day package. If you are specifically interested in having a dedicated day with these animals, please take a look at our “Carnivore Keeper for the Day” programme. Please note: Applicants MUST be over 18 years of age and physically fit.

If you wish to make a booking, contact the Park on 01540 651270 or e-mail a completed booking form to wildlife@rzss.org.uk. For information on payment, click here.

PHOTOGRAPHY AND FILM

BEHIND THE SCENES – PHOTOGRAPHY TOUR
Spend the day with our experienced guide who will accompany your group as you explore the Park. Share a special “behind the scenes” treat and photograph the tigers and Walker our polar bear while they are fed their early morning breakfast. Experience the magnificent scenery from our Main Reserve with the chance to catch a glimpse of our European Elk, Red Deer, Przewalski’s Horses and also the European Bison herd. From Snowy Owls, Scottish Wildcats, Pine Marten and even a Lynx or two if you’re really patient – these are just a few of the animals you could meet on your journey.

Morning and afternoon coffee will be provided along with a voucher for lunch in our Antlers Café. Cost £95 per person and pre-booking is essential. Maximum numbers for each group will be 6 and the age limit for the tour is 16.

Dates: 25th February, 24th March, 28th April, 26th May and 23rd June. For bookings or more information, please e-mail wildlife@rzss.org.uk or call 01540 651976.

FILMING AND COMMERCIAL PHOTOGRAPHY
The Park has been involved in filming for various television companies and also for conservation organisations for educational material. We are always willing to discuss your requirements and will do our best to accommodate your wishes provided that our animals are not compromised in any way.

For commercial photographers who may want to publish photographs, we would ask that you contact us before coming to the Park. We may have to arrange for you to be accompanied by a warden for your own safety and for this, reasonable rates are available.

For more information and to discuss rates, please contact the Park on 01540 651270 or e-mail on wildlife@rzss.org.uk

FUNDING

Funding is one of the key issues, which enables us to carry out development work and new projects at the Highland Wildlife Park. As a charity, we rely heavily on the generosity of individuals and organisations to achieve many of our aims.

We are currently seeking funding to provide more seating and picnic benches around the Park. A recycled plastic, low maintenance bench starts at £161 and a picnic bench with an extended top suitable for wheelchair users costs £311. If you or your company would like to sponsor any of the above or can help in any way to provide the materials by donation or fundraising, please contact us either by phone on 01540 651270 or e-mail on wildlife@rzss.org.uk. We would be delighted to hear from you.
